What information is needed for a freight quote?

Where necessary, confirm whether you require delivery to a commercial address and what unloading or access arrangements apply. Do not assume a quotation includes installation, upper-floor delivery or other site services unless they are expressly listed.
Why is freight not a fixed percentage of the product price?
The value of the furniture does not describe the space it occupies in transit. Carton dimensions, packed weight, quantity, destination and the agreed delivery service affect the shipment. Two orders with similar product values can have different packing configurations. Request the measured packing information rather than estimating transport costs from a product photograph.
Which measurements should I ask for?
- Open dimensions: the product's working footprint.
- Folded dimensions: its storage configuration, where applicable.
- Carton dimensions and carton count: its packaged shipment configuration.
- Net and packed weights: confirm which weight is being quoted.

How long will production and delivery take?
Ask for a schedule based on the final specification, quantity and destination. Production time and transit time are separate stages. A requested arrival date is not a confirmed delivery commitment until the team has reviewed the order and agreed the schedule. Avoid planning a room opening around a generic transit estimate.
Are duties, taxes and local charges included?
Check the written quotation for the agreed delivery terms and exactly which costs are included or excluded. Ask who is responsible for import clearance, duties, taxes and destination charges where applicable. Requirements vary with the destination and shipment; this FAQ does not supply a customs or tax determination.
What should be confirmed before payment?
Review model, dimensions, quantities, colors, included components, packing, product prices, freight and the agreed schedule.
